the Saint Lucie River on Florida’s Treasure Coast
The Saint Lucie River is located in the Martin and Saint Lucie Counties of Florida. The North Fork originates in Saint Lucie County and winds for miles until joining the South Fork in Martin County on the shores of Palm City, Jensen Beach and Stuart. The South Fork becomes the Okeechobee waterway and is navigable through the lake and beyond to the Gulf of Mexico via the Caloosahatchee River.
The Saint Lucie River in Martin County is almost a mile wide in places and offers residents great boating and aquatic recreation. The river empties to the Atlantic Ocean at the Saint Lucie inlet which is only a short boat ride to the sparkling blue waters of the Bahamas.
