The Maritimes is one of the prime ocean-to-river communities on South Hutchinson Island in Stuart, FL.  Many units offer larger than normal residences in both River and Oceanside settings.  The complex consists of 53 units, all oceanfront or on the banks of the Intracoastal Waterway. The units range in size from 1,300 to 2,100 square feet and have 2 or 3 bedrooms. The complex has several amenities, including a pool, tennis courts, and kayak/canoe storage.

The riverside (or Maritimes West has a lovely private sandy beach with kayak storage for those not wishing to play in the surf or for those days when it’s a bit windy on the beachside.  The Oceanside (Maritimes East) has private beach access as well as a heated pool when you’re finished frolicking in the crystal clear waters of the Atlantic Ocean.

The Maritimes condos were constructed between 1975 and 1988, with the oceanfront units being built first.  Living square footage ranges from just under 1300 sq. ft. 2 Bedroom condos with over 2100 sq. ft. condos and townhouses with 3 Bedrooms plus dens and a garage.

They are all 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms with private balconies or patios. The Jensen Beach Club complex was built between 1986 and 1987 and has a community pool, clubhouse, and tennis courts. These are three-story buildings with the most desirable condos being the end units with lake views.

The Jensen Beach Club will allow up to a 25 lb. or smaller pet and rentals are also allowed with some restrictions. The maintenance fee includes the insurance and maintenance for the building exterior as well as the common areas, pest control, management, and water, and sewer charges.

There are two designated parking spots for each unit and ample guest parking as well. Jensen Beach Club residents enjoy the convenience of having ocean access just across the street. And, also being a short drive or bicycle ride to restaurants, shopping, and the wonderful amenities of Jensen Beach and Martin County FL. All at a very affordable price.

Spinnaker Point on Hutchinson Island is easy to miss when driving by on Highway A-1-A in Stuart FL.  But, it is one of the gems for those who want both river and ocean access.  This gated community has 12 homes west of the road and 2 lots that have yet to be built upon on the ocean side.

Four of these homes enjoy being on the Intracoastal Waterway (also known as the Indian River) and have deeded docks with ocean access (no fixed low bridges) through the Saint Lucie Inlet just a little under 5 miles south. The remaining 8 homes have access to the community pier and a few have deeded docks as well.

All the homes are built in the Key West style and were built between 1991 and 2001.  Home sizes range from a 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom home with a 2 car garage up to a 5 bedroom, 6 bathroom home with a 2 and ½ car garage.  There is deeded access to the ocean with a boardwalk leading over the dunes.  All ages and pets are permitted in Spinnaker Point. 

School-age children attend the Felix A Williams Elementary School, Stuart Middle School, and Jensen Beach High School.

Located approximately halfway between the Stuart and Jensen Beach causeways, it is easy to enjoy the restaurants, shopping, and amenities both areas offer.

 Currently (August 2018) the $250.00 a month HOA fee covers the common areas, reserve funds, management fees, and landscaping.  There is also a one-time $6,000 capital contribution for beach renourishment and or replacement that is collected by the Property Owners Association.

Existing homes are all two to three stories and range in size from just under 6,000 sq. ft. of living area with 5 bedrooms and 7 bathrooms down to 3,000 sq. ft. homes with 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.

The Lakeside Condos are in an excellent location, just a short walk to the beach. There’s a courtesy tram available to take residents and guests around the sprawling facilities of the Marriott resort at Indian River Plantation.  Just a short drive to the grocery store, historic downtown Stuart, and the many, many amenities that Martin County FL has to offer.

Oceana I was built in 1975 and is a 12-story building with 125 condos, while Oceana II was completed in 1980 with 16 stories and 160 units. The Riverwood condos of Hutchinson Island in the Indian River Plantation complex of Stuart consist of 12 smaller two-story buildings close to the Marriott Resort and a full-service marina in Indian River Plantation.  These condos were completed in 1981 and 1982 with many condos having magnificent wide water views of the Intracoastal Waterway also known as the Indian River and others with sweeping views of the Indian River Plantation Golf Course and lakes.

There are 60 spacious condos with a mix of three bedroom- three bath, 2 bedroom-2 bath, and 1 bedroom-1 bath units.  Sizes range from a very spacious 2,065 sq. ft. down to 911 sq. ft. for the 1-bedroom condos.
