  1. You may notice the drive-by track back that I decided to publish that links to the recent CNN article about the troubles of Florida Real Estate. I’d just like for you to realize that in no place in this article is Martin County mentioned and while I don’t have anything but anecdotal data, vacancy rates are nowhere near double digits in our area. I’d be very surprised if they were over 5%.

    I’m also unsure of the methodology used in CNN’s data from the recent census. Quite a few snowbirds may not be inclined to report to these census workers who may mistakenly report a vacation home as being vacant.
