When these developments were planned the original intent was to combine the two for ease of access.  However, the County decided to nix these plans as they felt that out of area residents would use Windemere Drive as a shortcut between US-1 and Jensen Beach and making a lot of congestion in this community.

Construction of the Sandpebble complex began in 1982.  Recently all buildings were completely refurbished with metal roofs.  Other renovations included Hardi-Plank replacement for exterior wood surfaces and complete concrete (re-bar) restoration.  Also completed was the installation of a bulkhead protecting and enhancing the river-side property and structures, updated landscaping, and the painting of all the buildings.

The monthly fees include maintenance and insurance for all structures and common areas.  There is a community pool as well as a community pier with deeded docks on the Indian River (Intracoastal Waterway).  Residents of these townhomes have the ability to go fishing on the Intracoastal from their boat or right from the dock, or simply just walk across the street to enjoy the crystal clear waters of the Atlantic Ocean.
