The Tony Award winning smash hit musical, “Thoroughly Modern Millie.” with an all star cast, opens at The Barn Theatre January 27th through February 12th.  And because of ticket demand, The Barn has already added five additional shows dates.   With an all star cast, including recording artist Vallerey Valentine, who stars as the sultry night club proprietor Muzzy Van Hossmere, innovative sets, upgraded lighting and projectionist effects, and a new sound board, you’ll enjoy this lavish story of young Millie Dillmount from Salina, Kansas, as she romps her way through the 1922 New York City flapper era with a grand plan to find a job as a secretary to a wealthy man,  then marry him.  But, of course, “Millie” is a romantic comedy and the guy she falls in love with doesn’t have a dime, or so he tells her.  Filled with frisky flappers, dashing leading men, a villainous dragon lady you will love to hate, and that sultry nightclub proprietor, this musical has it all.  And wait till you experience all the incredible songs, over the top vocalists, dancers, and, of course, tappers.  Hold onto your hats!!!

PRIVATE HOBE SOUND MURAL TOURS– Booked by Calling Nadia at 561-762-9202 ornadiautto@comcast.net

Mural Project Goals:

  • Beautify specific locations
  • Enhance civic pride for residents
  • Provide signature attraction for seasonal visitors
  • Promote local business and connect the main street corridors
  • Honor our rich past, celebrate current vitality and plant seeds for future promise
  • Facilitate positive networking among all participants: artists, building owners and business residents

There are 17 large scale murals completed to date, with several more scheduled for this year and many other prospects expected as the endeavor reaches maturity.

Since 2009, this ‘paint-the-town’ initiative, spearheaded by professional artist Nadia Utto, has provided opportunities to spend some time ‘on-the-wall’ contributing a personal touch to the local ambiance, for over 40 skilled regional artisans and hobbyists, along with approximately 100 individual residents and visitors.

There are fun ‘treasure-hunt’ hidden aspects painted within each mural…. So stop by the Chamber for a Mural Tour Map/Brochure – and walk, bike, drive or take a sponsored tour to and around these landmarks!

Building owners, business tenants and community residents support the overall effort, none-the-less the majority of this work to date has been performed with modest honorariums and as a labor-of-love…

So please invest in your community and support the ongoing sustainability of the murals project by taking a tour and/or making a donation to Landmark Arts, Inc.

Slots, roulette, poker and blackjack will be available throughout the mansion. At the end of the event, chips can be exchanged for raffle tickets for a chance to win prizes, including an iPad and large-screen television.
