Snug Harbor in Stuart Florida which is officially known as the Snug Harbor Yacht Club is a residential community in Martin County comprising of 72 home sites.  Snug Harbor lies in an unusual situation as it is an enclave in the very eastern part of the area that is almost entirely located in the City of Stuart, yet Snug Harbor is not part of the City and most residents want to kep it this way.

Recently, the City of Stuart has proposed bringing a hybrid sewer system into Snug Harbor to allow Snug Harbor residents to hook up to the city system.  Though, any one wishing to hook up must sign an agreement not to oppose the City annexing Snug Harbor into the City.  Many of us see this as nothing more than a back door way for the City to increase their tax revenue while providing Snug Harbor with a de-facto decrease in the level of service which we currently receive from Martin County.

Martin County residents have a new way of being notified of any emergencies in the area named Code Red.

NEW EMERGENCY NOTIFICATION SYSTEM AVAILABLE TO THE PUBLIC

Martin County Fire Rescue is excited to announce a new public Emergency Notification system, called CodeRED. This allows Emergency Management personnel to send Public Safety messages, evacuation notices, and other timely warnings, by phone, text, and/or email.  Citizens and businesses are encouraged to use a new Community Signup feature where they are able to associate landline phones, cellular phones, and email addresses with a Martin County street address.  CodeRED allows notifications as broad as all-county, and as narrow as targeted evacuation zones, or small neighborhoods threatened by wildfire, flooding and other public safety emergencies.

FREE WEATHER WARNINGS

Another feature of the CodeRED system is localized weather warnings.  Citizens and businesses opting into the system can receive severe weather and tornado warnings when issued by the National Weather Service affecting portions of Martin County.  With Weather Warnings, the public can receive timely information regarding these threats and react with protective actions, such as going indoors, sheltering, etc.  Signing up for the warnings is as easy as a few mouse clicks and the warnings are automatically generated.

There are currently44 active listings in Rocky Point.  List prices range from a low of $94,600 to $2,995,000 which results in an average of $190.29 per square foot of living area.  There is one short sale and 5 bank owned foreclosures in this set of listings.

12 homes are under contract (pending sales).    Listing prices ranged from $111,100 to $899,000 for an average of $145.40 per square foot.  These include 4 bank owned properties and no short sales.

In July of 2014 there are 14 homes actively listed in Crane Creek.  List prices range from $189,500 to $699,999 for an average of $141.46 per sq. ft. of living area.  In this group, there is one short sale and one bank owned foreclosure.

Four homes are under contract and awaiting settlement, priced from $154,900 to $379,000 for an average of $104.90 per sq. ft. of living area. Again, one of these is a short sale and one is a foreclosure.
